What is SIFE?

SIFE is a partnership between business and higher education that is preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders to create a better world for everyone.
 

SIFE's global network consists of business executives, university students and academic leaders.

SIFE students form teams that serve their communities by developing projects that take what they are learning in their classrooms about business and use it to solve real world problems for real people. Business executives support the program through corporate donations, personal contributions and the gift of their time.

The SIFE program concentrates on six areas: market economics, success skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, environmental sustainability, and business ethics. An additional consideration is the long-term sustainability of their team and educational programs.

The students are led by faculty advisors who challenge them to develop projects that specifically meet the unique needs of their communities. For example, their efforts help aspiring entrepreneurs, struggling business owners, low-income families and children experience success.

1. What is UTeM FormulaVarsity?

UTeM Formula Varsity is a student racing competition that challenges students to design, manufacture and race their single seat open-wheel formula style racing car in real track condition. This event is inspired by similar student based formula style racing events such as Formula SAE and Formula Student. The aim of the event is to provide a platform for Malaysian students with interest in motorsport engineering to put into practice their engineering knowledge and skills in developing a working model of a formula style racing car. The event hope to foster the tie and collaboration between all Malaysian higher education institutions especially among the students as well as to help create the needed competent human capitals for our country automotive industries.

2. Where and when will the event held?

The event will be held from 2-3 October 2010 at Melaka.

3. Who is the organizer?

For the 2010 event, the competition will be organized by Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).

4. When was the last event?

The last event was held in 2008 in UTeM main campus.

5. Who participated in the last event?

Five teams participated in the 2008 Formula Varsity, which are UTeM, UPM, University of Nottingham (Malaysian Campus), Politeknik Shah Alam & Politeknik Kota Bharu.

6. Who can participate in the event?

All students from all Malaysian higher education institutions (IPTA, IPTS, Polytechnics, IKMs, ILPs etc) are welcomed to participate in this event.

7. How can I participate?

All teams who wish to participate in this event, must submit their registration form together with the registration fee to the 2010 Formula Varsity organizing committee (contact Dr Muhamad Zahir Hassan at zahir@utem.edu.my or call 06-3316559). Only teams with official endorsement and approval by their institutions are allowed to participate in the event.

In the other hand, for FKM UTeM students, you can contact Dr Muhamad Zahir Hassan (email: zahir@utem.edu.my or tel: 06-3316559) for info on how to participate as team member in the organizing committee.

Jika namanya klinik PELAJAR, kenapa perlu berada dibangunan kediaman staff?
Jika namanya klinik PELAJAR, kenapa perlu berada jauh dari kediaman pelajar?

Wahai MPP UTeM bijak bestari, kenapa perlu jadi begitu?

Berikut merupakan penjelasan daripada En Faizal:

Penempatan doktor di kolej kediaman telah dibincangkan tetapi masalah tempat masih belum diselesaikan antara pihak kolej kediaman dan klinik. Kita sedang membuat permohonan pertambahan kakitangan untuk membuka beberapa lagi klinik yang bakal ditempatkan di kolej kediaman.

Namun begitu harapan tetap ada disana.. perancangan untuk kemudahan adalah mewujudkan talian kecemasan bagi pelajar menghubungi ambulan UTeM untuk kes-kes krtikal.

Rasanya tak perlu muskil kenapa di DT.. kerana disitulah UTeM. Sebenarnya saya pun rasa pelajar semakin kurang mengunjungi pejabat HEPA berbanding di kampus yang kita tumpang dulu.. Pusat Persatuan Pelajar pun hanya meriah bila ada latihan karate pada hari Rabu malam. Masalah jauh ini telah berkali-kali disuarakan termasuk kepada pihak kementerian sendiri.

Ada cadangan untuk membuka kembali kemudahan klinik panel yang berdekatan di kolej kediaman untuk kemudahan pelajar dan perkara ini masih ditahap perbincangan.Bagi pelajar di kolej kediaman, mereka boleh mendapatkan perkhidmatan penghantaran ke hospital pada bila-bila masa dengan menghubungi Pengetua atau Felo-felo yang dilantik.

Berkenaan jauh kat Hulu.. sapa cakap klinik dekat.. saja le tu.. nak bodek pengurusan universiti.. memang jauh.. huhuhu.. tapi disitulah tempat yang kosong sekarang ini. FKEKK pun dah arah untuk kosongkan One Stop Center.. nak buat makmal baru..

Takpe.. insya Allah semua akan dapat diselesaikan secepat mungkin.. Sama2 lah kita doakan.

Bila aku baru masuk UTeM , alangkah terkejut bila tengok lebih 50% bangunan dekat Kampus induk ini dah hampir siap.Alhamdulillah, bila nampak perubahan yang amat ketara.Baru 6 bulan aku tak masuk kampus induk (pergi Latihan Industri) dah nampak dah banyak perubahan.Dan yang paling best bila nampak ade ramai orang bersepah kat tepi jalan nak pergi FKEKK.haha kecian gak tengok diarang jalan jauh..sampai FKEKK je berpeluh-peluh,basah baju, bau hapak.he he Tapi seronok gak bila tengok diarang,baru terasa suasana Universiti.Kalu tak dulu aku pergi mane2 mesti takde orang.Keluar bilik kuliah tak de sesiapa, g toilet jalan kat tepi kelas sunyi je.Pergi cafe jumpe budak2 kelas je..Aduh ,terasa aku sorang je yang belaja kat Fakulti tu.Dah macam Fakulti tu aku yang punye.hehe Tapi sekarang ni dah berubah.dah tak sunyi macam dulu.. kalau nak buat kelas ganti pun kena booking awal2.Harap sebelum aku abis blaja 2010 ni,dapat la UTeM ni siap 100%.Seronok bila dari awal sampai akhir aku dapat lihat pembangunan UTeM ni.. memang best, cuma yang tak seronok bila ari hujan je..Aku dah tak larat nak bau ayam lagi..sakit tekak aku hidu benda ni lebih 3 tahun..harap masalah ni diselesaikan dengan bijaksana secepat mungkin.
